Shape 4 Life Fitness Studio was inspired by the owner’s personal weight loss journey. Learn more about Deidra and how she and her team can help you achieve your goals.
Deidra has been a Westerville resident all her life. Her story began in April 2010 when she reached her all-time highest weight of 215 lbs. By October 2010, she had lost over 50 lbs. and went from a size 16 to an 8. Spending over 15 hours a week at the gym, her passion to become a personal trainer continued to grow. Deidra enrolled in the Personal Training Academy and NETA – National Exercise Trainers Association, and became certified in Personal Training and Group Exercise, with the hope to inspire others to achieve their weight loss goals. Then, in March 2011, her dream to open her own fitness studio became a reality.
In January 2015, Deidra had a reached a plateau in her fitness journey. She decided to set a 3-month goal and become intentional with her workouts, meal prep and nutritional supplements. Her results for 3 months: a 6% body fat loss and an additional 10 lb. weight loss. “I want to always put forth my best effort and show my members that if I can do something, then they can achieve the same result if not go further. I feel it is important for members to know my struggles as well. Being healthy & fit is a journey. There are a lot of peaks and valleys. But I always want to keep my eye on the horizon, to be the best I can be for my members and myself.”
Deidra has led just about every class offered in the studio, but her ‘Command Central’ for the last few years has been in the Spin Room. Deidra is energizing and motivating. She likes to keep her workouts fun. “I believe in working hard, but also feeling amazing after!” She is a people person and takes pride in getting to know every member and their goals. “There is great satisfaction when members succeed in their journey, meet their goals or step up their game. I can honestly say ‘I did that, my studio did that!’.”

In 2011, Renée broke her ankle while playing roller derby and was bed ridden for months. Her weight went up to 201lbs. When she could finally walk again, 20lbs came off right away, but she needed help with the rest. She was uncomfortable in her own skin. She found a private gym and lost over 40lbs. This drew her into the Health & Wellness industry, where she has been continuing to grow over the past 5 years.
Renée has an energetic and motivational personality that will make you feel comfortable, whether you are brand new to a gym or a fitness lover. She specializes in Correcting Technique, Core / Balance, Strength Training and Cardio, using the right combinations to help you achieve your goals.
Renée loves helping others who are seeking healthier lifestyles. “I enjoy working with people to achieve their health and fitness goals. Whatever your goal may be—improving flexibility, gaining strength, losing fat, adding lean muscle, correcting your form—I want to help make your goal a reality.”

Kelly was never that big into exercise as a kid or young adult. She knew the importance of exercise, but despite being unhappy with herself and her body, it was never very high on her priority list. She dabbled in the occasional 5k, but nothing of constancy. It wasn’t until 2012, when her best friend took advantage of Kelly’s love for Disney and asked her to run a 10-mile race through the Magical Kingdom, that things started to click. As she started to train, the runs got longer and so did her desire to do more. In fact, just 3 short weeks after the Disney 10-mile race, she ran her first half marathon and was hooked.
In 2013, Kelly and her husband became members at Shape 4 Life to increase their cross training. She took an instant love for the group workout atmosphere. With help from the owner, Deidra, Kelly realized that she wanted to be more than just a participant in the classes; she wanted to help other people to learn the love of exercise. In July of 2015, Kelly became a certified group instructor through NETA – National Exercise Trainers association and became a certified Kickboxing instructor in 2017.
Kelly works hard to create a fun and enjoyable class that anyone can participate in. She is a firm believer that if she doesn’t like, or won’t do, a certain type of exercise herself, she won’t make her clients do it either. “If you are not having fun working out, you are not going to want to do it every day. Yeah, a workout may be hard, but if you are having fun you won’t even realize it until the workout is done.”
Brittany has been involved in sports and fitness since early in her high school career. She participated in four varsity sports, and her passion for exercise and fitness continued into her adult life. While working as a teacher, she realized she was losing sight of herself, gaining weight, and needed an outlet. To shift her focus back to her health, She enrolled as a client at Shape4Life. Soon after joining in on the fun of group fitness classes, Brittany realized she may want to merge her hobby with her professional life. In December of 2017, Brittany became a certified Spinning instructor through Mad Dogg Athletics.
Since then, Brittany has strived to create fun, upbeat, and challenging spin classes that are engaging to all clients at any fitness level. Using the variety of spinning profiles she learned in her training, Brittany designs cycling classes that target strength, endurance, or speed to ensure you get what you need out of your cardio workout. Focusing on heart rate and ratings of perceived exertion, Brittany allows you to differentiate your workout making it your own, yet challenges you to reach new levels every time you climb on the bike.

With her motivating playlists, constructive feedback and positive attitude, you are sure to find success and sweat while you cycle with Brittany!
